Spectator Causes Injury to 21 riders at Tour de France
In a truly crazy scene at the Tour de France, a French spectator had her back to the cyclists and was posing for the tv cameras—but left her sign sticking out at the worst possible time—and she would end up sending 50 to 60 cyclists tumbling to the ground on Saturday. The massive pileup of bikers would cause injuries to 21 riders in what’s now being called one of the worst crashes ever in Tour de France history. Several, like British cyclist Chris Froome, would head to the hospital while others just barely managed to keep racing.
