Happy 70th! Alex Lifeson

Today, Alexandar Zivojinovich, aka Alex Lifeson, the Canadian musician, best known as the guitarist of RUSH becomes the newest member of rock's Septuagenarian Club.  I met Alex (above) at the final RUSH show in Dallas in 2015 at American Airlines Center. Lifeson plays electric and acoustic guitars, as well as other string instruments such as mandola, mandolin, and bouzouki. He also performs backing vocals in live performances and occasionally plays keyboards and bass pedal synthesizers. Lifeson, along with bandmates Geddy Lee and Neil Peart, was made an Officer of the Order of Canada on 9 May 1996. The trio was the first rock band to receive such an honor as a group.
