It was 4 years ago today when Ric Ocasek, lead singer and co-founder of The Cars, was found dead in his Manhattan apartment, dead at the age of 75 (some news outlets say he was 70). Ocasek was discovered unconscious and unresponsive at his Gramercy Park, New York City apartment by his estranged wife, Paulina Porizkova. The New York City medical examiner's office listed the prolific songwriter's death as hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, which was made worse by pulmonary emphysema.
