On This Day In 1981 Ozzy Released 'Diary Of A Madman'

Released on this day in 1981. Diary Of A Madman is the second solo studio album from Ozzy Osbourne, and the last to feature guitarist Randy Rhoads. Although bassist Rudy Sarzo and drummer Tommy Aldridge are credited in the liner notes and pictured on the inner sleeve for the American vinyl and cassette release and later CD re-issues, it was bassist Bob Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake who performed all bass and drum parts on the original release. Featuring singles "Over The Mountain" and "Flying High Again" the album has sold more than 3 million copies worldwide.

In honor of the anniversary, check out Ozzy performing "Flying High Again" in 1982, and "Over The Mountain" at the 1983 US Festival
