On This Day In 1976 The Eagles Released Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975)

The Eagles Surpass Michael Jackson With Best-Selling Album Of All Time

Released on this day in 1976, 'Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975)' is the first compilation album by the Eagles, containing songs from the band's first four albums. The album has the distinction of being the first album to receive the RIAA Platinum certification, meaning it shipped one million copies in the United States. It was also the best-selling album of the 20th century in the United States, and it stayed that way until it was surpassed by Michael Jackson's Thriller after Jackson's death in 2009. In 2017, it was selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or artistically significant". Then, in August 2018, it regained the title of best-selling album in the United States with sales of over 40 million.

In honor of the anniversary, here's a list of the Top 10 Eagles songs. See if you agree (below)
