Sammy Hagar Pays Tribute to Toby Keith on the Rock Legends Cruise

Sammy Hagar paid tribute to his late friend, country singer Toby Keith, last Thursday aboard the Rock Legends Cruise by playing one his songs, "I Love This Bar."

Talking about it during Friday's Q&A session -- hosted by Premiere Radio's Sal Cirrincione -- he said he had a "hard time singing [it]," but adds that he "had to do it."

He thought to do it after a member of the audience placed a red solo cup -- signifying another of Keith's hits, "Red Solo Cup" -- and a t-shirt on stage with the word "TOBY" spelled out in capital letters. Hagar took the shirt and kissed it.

At the Q&A, Hagar said doing the song was "good" for him, adding that he "had some closure."

Hagar joined Toby on stage for his last performance, this past December in Las Vegas.

Toby Keith died on February 5th from stomach cancer. He was 62.
